09/18/2026 Job Description Job Description Fiberglass Layup & Finishing Technician Las Vegas, NV Nexeo is seeking a skilled Fiberglass Layup & Finishing Technician to join a custom fabrication team specializing in high-impact props, exhibits, displays, and experiential marketing installations for concerts, trade shows, special events, and brand activations. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals with experience working in fiberglass, composites, or specialty fabrication environments who take pride in producing high-quality finished products. This is a specialized fabrication position requiring craftsmanship, attention to detail, and experience with fiberglass materials and finishing techniques. This is not a warehouse, material handling, or entry-level assembly role. Responsibilities Perform fiberglass layup on molds, props, displays, and custom-fabricated components. Measure and cut fiberglass mat, cloth, and other composite materials. Prepare molds and work surfaces by cleaning, sanding, grinding, and applying release materials. Accurately mix and apply fiberglass resins, hardeners, and related materials. Use rollers and hand tools to saturate fiberglass and remove trapped air bubbles. Trim, cut, grind, and sand cured fiberglass components. Repair surface imperfections and prepare pieces for painting or additional finishing. Use grinders, sanders, cutters, drills, and measuring tools safely. Read a tape measure and follow dimensions, drawings, or project specifications. Inspect completed pieces for proper shape, fit, surface quality, and finish. Follow all safety procedures when working with fiberglass dust, resins, chemicals, and power tools. Maintain a clean and organized fabrication area. Qualifications Previous hands-on experience in fiberglass fabrication, composite layup, auto body repair, collision repair, boat manufacturing, mold work, or a closely related skilled trade. Experience mixing and applying resins, performing fiberglass layup, or sanding and finishing fabricated components. Ability to use sanders, grinders, cutters, drills, and other fabrication tools. Ability to read a tape measure and work accurately from measurements. Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality finished work. Ability to follow detailed instructions while working independently or with a fabrication team. Comfortable working around fiberglass dust, resins, adhesives, and strong odors while using required personal protective equipment. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive physical work throughout the shift. General warehouse, order-picking, shipping, receiving, or forklift experience alone does not meet the requirements for this position. Pay $18.00-$22.00 per hour Schedule Full Time Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM-4:30 PM Nexeo Benefits
