Up to $23.00 per hour , based on experience Position Summary Edge Auto Rental is seeking an experienced and dependable Auto Body Prep Technician to join our Body Shop team. The Prep Technician will be responsible for properly preparing vehicles and vehicle components for paint and refinishing. Candidates should have prior experience working in an automotive body or paint shop and be comfortable working independently as part of a fast-paced team. Responsibilities Prepare vehicles and body panels for painting Sand, feather-edge, and prepare repaired surfaces Mask and tape vehicles and components prior to painting Clean and properly prepare surfaces for primer and paint Apply primer and perform final sanding as required Identify surface imperfections and address them before vehicles enter the paint process Assist with minor body preparation as needed Work closely with Body and Paint Technicians to keep vehicles moving through the shop Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all company safety procedures Requirements Previous auto body or automotive paint-preparation experience required Experience with sanding, masking, taping, priming, and surface preparation Knowledge of automotive body shop procedures and equipment Ability to work independently and efficiently Strong attention to detail and quality Reliable and able to work in a fast-paced shop environment Valid driver's license preferred Compensation & Benefits Up to $23.00 per hour , based on experience.
