Job Description
About the Position We are an auto collision repair shop in Baldwin looking for an experienced Auto Body Combo Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is experienced, dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing high-quality repairs. The right candidate should be able to look at a damaged vehicle and understand: What needs to come apart → what needs to be repaired → what needs to be replaced → how it needs to go back together → what needs to be checked before the vehicle leaves the shop. Quality and safety are extremely important to us. We want someone who takes ownership of their work and doesn't cut corners. Responsibilities Perform collision repairs on a variety of vehicles Disassemble vehicles to assess damage Identify visible and hidden damage Perform body and panel repairs Remove and replace damaged body panels and components Repair and replace bumpers, fenders, doors, hoods, trunks, quarter panels, etc. Perform structural repairs when qualified Perform welding and metal repair as needed Perform bodywork, including sanding, filling, and finishing Properly align panels and body components Reassemble vehicles after repairs Follow manufacturer and industry repair procedures Work efficiently while maintaining quality and attention to detail Communicate additional damage or repair concerns to the foreman/estimator Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Properly use and maintain shop tools and equipment Perform quality checks before moving vehicles to the next stage of repair Qualifications 4+ years of professional collision repair experience preferred Strong knowledge of auto body repair and collision repair procedures Experience with disassembly and reassembly Ability to identify and assess collision damage Experience repairing and replacing body panels Experience with structural repairs is a plus Welding experience is a plus Ability to read and understand collision repair estimates Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail Reliable and punctual Takes pride in quality workmanship Must be able to work in a fast-paced shop environment Compensation Pay will be based on experience, skill level, and ability.
