Job Description
Overview Nino's Collision is looking for an experienced Auto Body Painter to join our growing team. We're seeking a highly skilled professional with 7+ years of hands-on, on-the-job experience in automotive collision refinishing who takes pride in producing exceptional-quality finishes and delivering work they can stand behind. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and knowledgeable in all phases of automotive refinishing. Experience working with water-based paint systems is preferred. - Prepare vehicles for refinishing according to repair estimates and manufacturer standards
- Perform high-quality automotive refinishing, including priming, sealing, basecoat, and clearcoat applications
- Properly mix and apply PPG water-based paint products
- Perform accurate color matching, tinting, blending, and refinishing to achieve factory-quality results
- Inspect repaired areas and completed paintwork for proper color, coverage, texture, gloss, and overall finish
- Properly mask and protect vehicles and surrounding components prior to refinishing
- Identify and correct imperfections such as runs, sags, dirt, orange peel, fisheyes, and other finish defects
- Follow proper paint booth procedures, manufacturer specifications, and safety protocols
- Maintain and properly care for spray guns, paint equipment, and other refinishing tools
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Communicate effectively with body technicians and management to ensure repairs move efficiently through the shop
- Follow repair plans, estimates, and manufacturer procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of professional, on-the-job experience as an Automotive Painter/Refinishing Technician
- Extensive knowledge of automotive collision refinishing processes and techniques
- Professional experience with water-based paint systems preferred
- Strong color-matching and blending skills
- Ability to produce high-quality finishes on a variety of makes and models
- Knowledge of proper surface preparation, masking, paint application, and finishing procedures
- Ability to identify and correct paint and finish defects
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality
- Ability to safely operate and maintain refinishing equipment and tools
