What You'll Do As an Auto Body Technician, you will be responsible for returning damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition while meeting CARSTAR's standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

Inspecting vehicles and reviewing repair plans before beginning work Performing light, medium, and heavy collision repairs Repairing and replacing damaged body panels and components Completing disassembly and identifying hidden or additional damage Communicating supplement needs to estimators and management Performing structural and frame repairs when qualified Welding, pulling, measuring, straightening, and fitting components Following OEM repair procedures and manufacturer specifications Confirming correct gaps, alignment, fit, and finish Working closely with estimators, painters, parts personnel, and production management Keeping assigned work areas clean, safe, and organized Protecting customers' vehicles during the repair process Documenting repair progress as required Performing quality checks before vehicles move to the next production stage Completing assigned repairs safely, accurately, and on schedule What We're Looking For We encourage experienced collision professionals from throughout the Rio Grande Valley to apply, including applicants from McAllen, Mission, Pharr, Edinburg, Alamo, San Juan, Hidalgo, Weslaco, and surrounding communities.

Preferred qualifications include:

Previous auto-body or collision-repair experience Ability to perform quality repairs with limited supervision Knowledge of modern vehicle construction and collision-repair methods Experience with panel replacement, metal repair, welding, and structural repair Ability to read and follow estimates and repair plans Familiarity with OEM repair procedures Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe repairs Ability to stay productive in a busy collision-repair environment Dependable attendance and a professional attitude Ability to communicate and work well with a production team Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record Personal hand tools appropriate for the position I-CAR, ASE, welding, or manufacturer certifications are preferred, but we also want to hear from experienced technicians who have developed their skills through hands-on work.
