Job Description

Overview We are seeking a motivated Auto Body Technician Helper to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in auto body repair and restoration within a professional dealership environment. The ideal candidate will assist skilled technicians with various repair tasks, learn industry-standard techniques, and develop their automotive repair skills. Prior dealership experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates enthusiasm and a strong work ethic. This role is essential for supporting the repair process, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Assist auto body technicians with vehicle repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, and refinishing tasks Support in the use of hand tools, power tools, MIG welding, and sheet metal fabrication Aid in vehicle maintenance and detailing to ensure vehicles meet quality standards before delivery Prepare work areas by organizing tools and materials needed for repairs Handle heavy lifting and assist with assembly or disassembly of vehicle parts during repairs Support auto glass installation, auto painting, and airless paint spraying processes as needed Follow safety protocols during all repair activities and maintain a clean work environment Learn to operate welding equipment, soldering tools, and other fabrication machinery under supervision Qualifications Prior experience or familiarity with auto body repair, welding (MIG or other types), or automotive mechanics is preferred Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, sheet metal work, and vehicle maintenance techniques is advantageous Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of automotive repair processes Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward learning new skills Customer service orientation is a plus for interacting with clients during vehicle drop-off or pick-up Basic auto estimating knowledge or auto restoration experience is beneficial but not required Valid driver's license preferred for moving vehicles within the shop area This position provides valuable training opportunities in auto body repair, welding, fabrication, and overall automotive restoration. Pay:
$16.00 - $25.00 per hour
