Full Job Description Job Summary:

Emergency Vehicle Systems is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upfitting Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing and configuring various components and equipment in police and fire vehicles, ensuring that all installations are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. A strong understanding of automotive 12v systems, as well as experience in upfitting work, is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, modify, and enhance vehicles for various applications, including utilities, commercial use, and emergency services.
• Work with a variety of equipment such as racks, shelving, ladders, toolboxes, lighting, and other specialized components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications related to upfitting projects.
• Perform diagnostic checks and troubleshoot installation issues to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Collaborate with team members and customers to understand specific installation requirements and preferences.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies throughout the installation process.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly secured and stored.
• Conduct final inspections of completed installations to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Stay current with industry trends and new products related to vehicle upfitting.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical education or certification related to automotive technology or a similar field preferred.
• Proven experience as a vehicle installer, upfitting specialist, or in a related role.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and electrical components.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools common to the trade.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor as needed.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, as required.
