Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Auto Glass Installation Technician, where your expertise will transform vehicle safety and aesthetics! In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for expertly installing, repairing, and replacing automotive glass with precision and care. Your mechanical aptitude, hands-on skills, and customer service focus will ensure every vehicle leaves our shop in optimal condition. This position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of vehicles, utilize advanced tools, and develop your automotive repair skills in a fast-paced environment committed to excellence. Duties Remove old or damaged auto glass safely using manual cutting tools and proper techniques. Install new auto glass with precision, ensuring proper fitment and sealing for optimal safety and appearance. Perform automotive glass repairs when applicable, restoring integrity without full replacement. Operate company vehicles and power tools safely to facilitate efficient installation processes. Handle glass materials carefully, including cutting, fitting, and aligning glass components for various vehicle makes and models. Conduct vehicle inspections post-installation to ensure quality standards are met; perform minor auto body repairs if necessary. Follow all safety protocols related to power tools, heavy lifting, and glass handling to maintain a safe working environment. Communicate effectively with customers about service procedures and provide excellent customer service throughout the process. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed for auto-estimating and record-keeping purposes. Qualifications Proven dealership experience or background in automotive repair is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools safely. Prior experience in the Flat Glass Industry required Proficiency in the ability to read a tape measurer Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration is a plus. Experience in manual glass cutting, automotive glass replacement, and repair techniques, according to ANSI standards. Knowledge of auto body repair, vehicle maintenance, and automotive glass materials handling. Ability to lift heavy glass panels safely and perform physical tasks requiring strength and stamina. Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients. Basic understanding of auto-estimating processes related to glass services. Valid driver's license with experience operating company vehicles responsibly. Complete rock chip repairs according to ROLAGS standards Complete pre- and post-inspections, invoices and work orders using tablet-based technology.
