Technician performs maintenance on a fleet of company vehicles and other customer related jobs. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our company fleet of light vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that vehicles are safe, reliable, and perform at their best. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for automotive repair, strong technical skills, and a commitment to quality. Essential Duties & Job Functions Repair and maintain mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and steering components. Conduct oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety. Repair diesel engines and heavy equipment mechanics as needed to support diverse vehicle types. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical knowledge to execute repairs efficiently and safely. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex automotive electrical systems and powertrain components. Experience Strong familiarity with automotive diagnostics software and schematics for efficient troubleshooting. Experience repairing air brakes, transmissions, and suspension systems. Experience with oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, tire services, shocks & struts replacement. Mechanical knowledge of automotive electrical systems combined with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. Prior experience working with diesel engines and heavy equipment mechanics is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills and Abilities:

Skilled at troubleshooting, diagnosis, information gathering, communicating with operators. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to weld, cut, and grind as needed. Ability to understand and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to work both on a team and independently while having a high regard for quality, environmental, and safety. Maintain a positive attitude, work well with your cross shift. Ability to thrive under pressure and be able to work during extreme weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to physically get to any part of machine, safely, for service. Must be able to push/pull/lift 50 pounds. Required Education High school diploma or

GED Experience Required Experience:

3-5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Experience:

Vocational/technical training in an automotive position is preferred.

A valid driver's license is required. Mine Safety Training (MSHA) is required. Background check Must pass pre-employment physical & drug/alcohol screening Compensation $30-40/hr depending on experience Schedule 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday Occasional overtime and weekends as needed to complete repairs.
