Job Summary Join our dynamic automotive team as an Automotive Service Writer, where you'll be the vital link between our valued customers and our skilled technicians. In this energetic role, you'll expertly communicate vehicle issues, recommend necessary repairs, and ensure a seamless service experience. Duties Greet customers warmly and accurately gather vehicle information to understand their service needs. Clearly explain repair recommendations, estimates, and service options using computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools. Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension work, tire services, and more. Upsell additional services by identifying customer needs while maintaining transparency and integrity. Manage cash handling and processing of payments efficiently while maintaining accurate records. Prepare detailed work orders, estimates, and invoices that reflect all services performed. Foster excellent customer relationships through attentive communication, follow-up, and ensuring a positive experience from start to finish. Requirements Proven experience in auto service management or as a service technician with knowledge of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures. Strong mechanical understanding of vehicle systems including transmissions, brakes, suspension, air brakes, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engines, and collision repair. Experience with auto estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell services tactfully while maintaining transparency. Dealership experience or familiarity with automotive sales processes is highly preferred. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driving experience is essential for test drives or vehicle inspections. Knowledge of automotive repair standards including oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, suspension work, auto body repair, and more. Pay:
$12.50 - $25.00 per hour
