Automotive Technician / Flat Rate Mechanic - Full Time Folsom Buick GMC is looking for an experienced Flat Rate Automotive Technician to join our Service Department. We are looking for a productive technician who can accurately diagnose and repair vehicles, manage their workload, and produce quality work in a busy dealership environment. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair automotive mechanical and electrical concerns Perform maintenance and repair work according to manufacturer specifications Complete engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brake, electrical, HVAC, and other vehicle repairs based on experience and qualifications Perform multi-point inspections and identify needed maintenance and repairs Complete customer-facing video inspections Properly document diagnostic findings, cause of failure, and repairs performed Maintain accurate technician stories and documentation Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer procedures Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship Communicate with Service Advisors and management regarding repair recommendations and vehicle status Maintain an organized and professional work area Follow dealership and manufacturer safety procedures Qualifications Previous professional automotive technician experience required Dealership experience preferred GM experience and certifications are a plus Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Ability to perform repairs efficiently in a flat-rate environment Must have your own professional automotive tools Valid driver's license with an acceptable DMV driving record Must be able to successfully complete a background check Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening Dependable with a strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Compensation Flat-rate compensation based on experience, certifications, and skill level. We are interested in technicians at multiple experience levels and are willing to discuss compensation based on what you can produce and the types of repairs you are qualified to perform.
