Job Description
Job Summary A growing automotive repair facility in Fountain Valley, CA is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician - Automotive for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a highly skilled Automotive Diagnostic Technician or Master Technician who can independently diagnose complex vehicle issues and complete advanced mechanical repairs with accuracy, efficiency, and pride in workmanship. This is a strong opportunity for a technician who wants to work in a professional, team-oriented repair environment where advanced diagnostic ability is valued. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys solving challenging vehicle problems, working with modern diagnostic tools, and contributing to a positive, high-performing service team. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced diagnostics on domestic, import, hybrid, and electric vehicles, including electrical, drivability, CAN Bus, and high-voltage system concerns. Complete complex mechanical repairs such as engine repair and replacement, head gasket service, timing chain and belt service, transmission replacement, drivetrain repairs, suspension, steering, and brake repairs. Diagnose and repair hybrid and EV systems, including HV battery removal and replacement, inverter and DC-DC converter diagnosis, and hybrid cooling system service. Use OEM-level scan tools, lab scopes, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and digital service information to identify root causes accurately. Inspect vehicles thoroughly, identify additional repair or maintenance needs, and document diagnostic findings and repair recommendations clearly. Collaborate with service advisors on repair needs, completion timelines, and quality expectations while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
