Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Repair and overhaul mechanical systems such as engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain components on various vehicle types including GM vehicles and heavy equipment. Conduct routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with manufacturer standards. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical knowledge to execute repairs efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics for complex repairs involving automotive electrical systems and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly and offering maintenance advice to enhance vehicle longevity. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed using auto estimating software and ensure all work meets dealership or industry standards. Experience Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in dealership settings preferred. Extensive knowledge of automotive mechanical systems including diesel engines, transmissions, powertrain components, suspension systems, brakes, and electrical systems. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics for accurate troubleshooting. Familiarity with ADAS technology, air brake systems, heavy equipment mechanics, and welding techniques is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with hand tools and power tools while maintaining high safety standards. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Prior experience working on GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus but not mandatory.
