The Position We are looking for an entry to mid-level Automotive Service Technician who is motivated, dependable, and willing to learn. You do not need to know everything. We are looking for someone who already has automotive repair experience and basic diagnostic abilities but, more importantly, has the desire to learn and grow. We are willing to invest time and training into the right person. If you want to continue developing your diagnostic and repair skills and work toward becoming a higher-level technician, this could be a great opportunity. Responsibilities Perform vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs Diagnose and repair basic mechanical and electrical concerns Perform brake, steering, suspension, cooling system, and other general repairs Perform scheduled maintenance and fluid services Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment Test drive vehicles to verify customer concerns and completed repairs Clearly document inspection findings, diagnostic results, and completed repairs Communicate with the Service Advisor and Shop Foreman when additional assistance or training is needed Be willing to learn new diagnostic and repair procedures Maintain a clean and organized work area and take care of shop equipment Qualifications Automotive repair experience required ASE certification(s) required within the first year of employment; already having ASE certifications is a plus Must have your own automotive tools Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Basic mechanical and diagnostic knowledge Ability to follow diagnostic procedures and repair information Dependable and willing to work as part of a team Positive attitude and willingness to learn Desire to continue developing your skills and advance as an automotive technician Training & Career Development We want our technicians to continue improving their skills. Douglas Automotive pays for ASE testing and encourages our technicians to continue earning certifications and expanding their automotive knowledge. We also send our technicians to classes for additional hands-on and technical training. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians and receive guidance and training as you develop your diagnostic and repair abilities. We aren't expecting you to know everything on day one. We are looking for someone who wants to learn.
