We work with automotive repair shops, dealerships, tire centers, collision centers, schools, and other commercial facilities. We are looking for a mechanically skilled and dependable Field Service Technician to join our growing team. This is a field-based position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, working independently, and interacting directly with customers. Experience with automotive shop equipment is preferred; however, we are willing to train a strong technician with related mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or industrial equipment experience. Equipment Serviced Our technicians work on equipment including: Automotive A/C service machines Wheel aligners Wheel balancers Tire changers Automotive and general-purpose lifts Specialty lifts Brake lathes ADAS and collision-repair equipment Other automotive shop equipment Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, maintain, and install automotive shop equipment at customer locations. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, computer, and equipment communication problems. Complete assigned service calls within the designated territory. Communicate with customers regarding equipment problems, repairs performed, parts needed, and recommended next steps. Perform equipment inspections, calibrations, preventive maintenance, and operational testing. Confirm that repaired equipment is functioning properly whenever testing conditions allow. Document all work accurately, including technician notes, photographs, equipment information, serial numbers, parts used, and customer signatures. Manage assigned parts, tools, and equipment inventory. Maintain an organized and professional service vehicle. Follow company and manufacturer safety procedures at all times. Keep the office informed about job progress, follow-up visits, required parts, and completed service calls. Provide professional, courteous service and help ensure customer satisfaction. Assist other technicians with installations and complex service calls when needed. Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Basic knowledge of electrical systems and electrical testing. Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, switches, relays, solenoids, compressors, or related components. Ability to use common hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Basic computer knowledge; experience diagnosing PC hardware is a plus. Automotive equipment, industrial equipment, appliance, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, military, or field-service experience is preferred. Ability to read service manuals, diagrams, and manufacturer instructions. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Ability to work independently, manage a daily route, and keep accurate records. Must be dependable, organized, and comfortable working without constant supervision. Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record required. Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds. Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and driving. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Travel and Schedule Daily travel to customer locations throughout Southern California is required. The primary service area may include Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties. (Mostly LA County) Occasional overnight travel may be required. Workdays generally begin in the morning, and schedules may vary depending on customer needs, travel time, and service-call requirements.
