About us Mountain Truck is a Used Truck and Equipment dealer, Independent
CARQUEST
Auto Parts store, and Service repair shop. We specialize in anything that is powered by gas or diesel fuel! We are looking for a full-time mechanic who is knowledgeable in all types of light and medium duty vehicles, both gas and diesel. Must work well with others. Our average employment retention is more than 10 years. Mountain Truck has been in business since 1968.POSITION SUMMARY
The Light-Medium Duty Automotive Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light to medium duty vehicles including cars, SUVs, vans, trucks and motorhomes that run on gasoline or diesel fuel. This role performs a variety of mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance services in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. Pay will be based on certifications and experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose, inspect, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, heating, and air conditioning.
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, tire rotations, and inspections.
- Use diagnostic equipment and hand tools to identify issues and determine proper repairs.
- Service and repair electrical systems including batteries, starters, alternators, lighting, and wiring.
- Follow all manufacturer procedures and specifications.
- Test drive vehicles to ensure proper performance and verify repairs.
- Maintain accurate repair orders and documentation.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and in compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary training or certification from an automotive technical school preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience as an automotive mechanic (light to medium duty).
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- ASE certifications preferred but not required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
