Auto Mechanic

Job Description

We are a family-owned and operated automotive repair shop that has been proudly serving our community for 36 years. We treat our customers like neighbors and our employees like family. We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and honest Automotive Mechanic to join our tight-knit team. In this role, you will perform high-quality vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs. Key Responsibilities Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:
Perform digital inspections and run diagnostic tests using modern scanning equipment to accurately identify mechanical and electrical issues.
General Repair & Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs, including brake systems, suspension, climate control (A/C), and electrical systems.
Quality Assurance:
Test-drive vehicles and double-check work to ensure repairs are done right the first time and meet safety standards.
Customer Service:
Explain necessary repairs clearly to service writers or customers when needed, maintaining our shop's reputation for transparency and trust.
Shop Safety & Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. Properly care for shop tools and equipment.
Documentation:
Accurately document all diagnosed issues, parts needed, and repairs completed on digital or paper work orders.
Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on automotive repair experience in a professional shop environment.
Tools:
Must possess a personal inventory of basic mechanic's hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
Licensing:
Must have a valid driver's license and a relatively clean driving record to test-drive customer vehicles.
Certifications:
ASE certifications are a major plus but not strictly required if you have proven, equivalent hands-on experience.
Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities, physical stamina to stand for long periods, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
