POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanic diagnoses and repairs cars, trucks, trailers and small engines. Other duties of the mechanic include inspecting vehicles, performing routine service and keeping records of work done. Day-to-day duties expected of the mechanic include the analysis of cars to determine what is wrong in unique circumstances, the use of testing equipment following repairs to ensure that automobiles are safe to drive.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary:
Rebuild, replace, or repair vehicle parts such as engines, brakes, transmission lines, electrical assemblies, and accessories for light and heavy equipment, trucks trailers, and small engines. Use diagnostic equipment to evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles. Follow safety procedures at all times to avoid accidental injuries and damage to automobiles.
Secondary:
Performs tune ups, brake jobs, and other preventive maintenance on cars, trucks, trailers and other powered rolling equipment; replaces common parts and makes adjustments. Keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition. Report equipment malfunctions and damage immediately. Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to walk and stand on concrete for prolonged periods of time. Physical Strength; hand eye coordination and endurance. Ability to lift, pull, push up to 80+ lbs. Ability to bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged periods of time. Climbing stairs and ladders; tolerate heights up to 20ft. Pass a pre-employment physical including drug screening, lifting test, and bending squatting tests. Pass random drug screening exams throughout your employment.
