Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Main Shop Technician to join our dealership team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive vehicle repairs and maintenance, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional service to our customers, maintaining the dealership's reputation for excellence, and supporting the overall operational efficiency of our service department. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced automotive technicians eager to showcase their mechanical skills and grow within a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues, including diesel engines, transmissions, suspension systems, brakes, electrical systems, and powertrain components. Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacements, and vehicle inspections. Utilize schematics and diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical problems accurately. Repair or replace mechanical systems including air brakes, automotive electrical systems, and heavy equipment components as needed. Conduct ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations and ensure proper functioning of safety features. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized automotive repair tools efficiently and safely. Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating tasks accurately, and ensure all work complies with dealership standards and safety regulations. Skills Proven dealership experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and mechanical repairs. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, automotive suspension systems, brake repair, and powertrain maintenance. Familiarity with schematics reading and electrical system troubleshooting. Hands-on experience working with ADAS technology and air brake systems is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other repair machinery. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail on all repairs performed.
