POSITION GOAL
Provide excellent customer service and technical support to district staff, students, and families
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
  • Provide tier 1 technical support for hardware, software, and telecommunications technology as well as providing technical advice and basic how-to instruction. 2.
  • Provide support to clients via email/service request system, remote tools, telephone, and/or in person at multiple district sites. 3.
  • Repair, replace, or coordinate the repair of hardware and software.
4. Assist in the evaluation of hardware and software and test equipment, order replacement parts, and certify functionality. 5. Install hardware, software, and peripherals (i.e. audio/visual equipment, charging carts, 3D printers). This may involve moving and packing/unpacking equipment from one location to another. 6. Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mobile devices (especially iPads). 7.
  • Provide on-site assistance for instructional systems, departments, and schools. 8.
  • If assigned to support specific locations, serve as initial site contact for technical support. 9.
  • Assist ITS leaders, site administrators, and district staff with technical support in the planning and implementation of technology projects. 10.
  • Assist senior technicians in developing materials and providing training for users as assigned. 11. Monitor and update service requests daily. Communicate any escalated service requests that require attention according to standard operating procedures. 12.
  • Keep current with hardware and software technology through education courses and self-study.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent, associate degree preferred, plus specialized post-secondary technical training, courses, or certifications (i.e. A+, Net+, Apple Mac Tech) At least one (1) year experience that demonstrates knowledge of computer hardware, system software, application software, and network systems Experience working in an educational environment preferred Possess a valid Florida Driver's License; if a holder of any other valid US state-issued Driver's License, agree to acquire a Florida Driver's License within thirty (30) days of employment, except in a case where accommodation is required Must be able to operate school board vehicles, when assigned, in accordance with operational procedures and School Board Policy 505 REQUIRED SKILLS Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and listening skills with an ability to establish and maintain working relationships with associates, school and district personnel, and the general public Ability to carry out long range responsibilities Ability to relate software capabilities to end user needs Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision and act within adopted guidelines Ability to train others Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with diverse individuals and groups Willingness to continue education to keep current with the advancing technology
