Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic automotive service team as an Automotive Paint Prep Technician / Painter's Helper! In this energetic role, you will assist in preparing vehicles for painting, ensuring surfaces are flawless and ready for a professional finish. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to delivering high-quality auto body refinishing and painting services. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in auto body repair, surface preparation, and vehicle maintenance within a fast-paced, supportive environment. Paid training is provided, and your safety is our priority. Duties Assist in surface preparation by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primer to vehicle surfaces Support the painting process through mixing paints, operating spray equipment such as airless paint sprayers and conventional spray guns Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling of masking materials and surface protection techniques Use hand tools, grinders, power tools, and buffing equipment to ensure surfaces are smooth and ready for finishing Help with auto body repairs by assisting with minor welding, panel alignment, and vehicle assembly tasks Follow safety protocols including the use of respiratory protection and proper handling of hazardous materials Support auto glass installation and detailing tasks to ensure vehicles meet quality standards before delivery Skills Previous dealership or auto body shop experience is highly desirable Mechanical knowledge with familiarity in vehicle maintenance and auto restoration processes Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, buffing machines, and power tools used in surface prep and finishing Experience with automotive painting techniques such as conventional spraying and airless paint spraying Knowledge of surface preparation masking techniques to ensure clean paint lines and protection of non-painted areas Ability to lift heavy parts safely and perform physical tasks efficiently throughout the workday Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients about vehicle status when needed Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to automotive excellence!
