JOB DESCRIPTION

Caldwell Automotive is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our team. We are looking for a dependable, skilled technician who is comfortable diagnosing and repairing a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns. This position is ideal for a technician who can work independently, accurately diagnose vehicle problems, and complete quality repairs efficiently. We provide a steady workload, a professional shop environment, modern diagnostic equipment, and a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with the team, and wants a long-term position with an established independent repair shop.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, drivability, and performance-related concerns Perform advanced diagnostics using scan tools, DVOMs, wiring diagrams, service information, and other diagnostic equipment Repair and service engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension, cooling, A/C, and electrical systems Perform thorough vehicle inspections and accurately identify needed repairs, maintenance items, and safety concerns Complete repairs accurately and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship Clearly document diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, and completed work for the service advisor Perform scheduled maintenance and general service as needed Verify repairs through testing and road testing when appropriate Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Work closely with service advisors and other technicians to keep jobs moving efficiently Participate in ongoing training and stay current with changing automotive technology and repair procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years of professional automotive repair experience preferred Strong diagnostic ability with mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns Proficient with scan tools, DVOMs, wiring diagrams, and service information Strong knowledge of engine, transmission, brake, steering, suspension, cooling, A/C, and electrical systems Ability to accurately diagnose problems and determine the proper repair Capable of working independently and completing repairs efficiently Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to clearly document diagnostic findings and repair recommendations Must own a professional set of hand tools ASE certifications preferred, but not required Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Dependable, professional, and able to work well as part of a team
