Position Summary Collaborates with business partners to learn skills required to maintain, repair, and overhaul trailers and equipment. Major Tasks and Responsibilities Repairs and maintains systems and parts associated with class 6,7, and 8 diesel-powered tractors, trailers, and forklifts. Diagnosis failures and makes repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other vehicles. Operates and uses specialized equipment Uses hydraulic jacks to lift heavy trucks and cars to perform maintenance work underneath the vehicles. Troubleshoots and repairs heavy truck engines, braking, electrical, cooling, and exhausting systems. Assists in maintaining accurate records of repairs, schedules, and parts inventory. Follows safety protocols and procedures when handling heavy equipment. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Working knowledge of hand tool repairs on class 6,7, and 8 trucks.
