The average technician has been with the shop for more than 10 years. Pay and Benefits This is not a flat-rate position. Compensation combines an hourly base with individual production incentives and a team production bonus. Experienced technicians can realistically earn $80,000

• 105,000+ per year, depending on experience and production.

with a 3% company match Paid training and continuing education ASE testing and certification paid by the shop Boot allowance Uniforms provided, cleaned, and serviced by Cintas Performance reviews twice each year Annual pay adjustments The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and approximately 40-45 hours per week. There are no regularly scheduled weekends. Additional overtime may be offered, but it is not required. The Shop You'll Be Working In Motor Works is an established NAPA Auto Care Center and AAA Approved Auto Repair facility. The work is fast-paced and varied, but clear communication, documented inspections, and consistent quality-control processes keep the day organized.

The shop offers:

12 bays and lifts across two buildings A clean, heated facility with air-conditioning improvements underway Shop-Ware management software and digital vehicle inspections Autel and Snap-on diagnostic equipment Factory programming and module reflashing capabilities PicoScope, oscilloscopes, and pressure transducers Access to Mitchell, ALLDATA, Identifix, and other repair information Specialty tools and diagnostic resources provided by the shop A shop foreman who makes time to help with complex repairs and diagnostic challenges A designated employee break area The vehicle mix includes domestic, European, and Asian vehicles, with occasional light-duty diesel and local fleet work. You'll see brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen and perform a mix of diagnostics, general repair, engine work, transmission work, A/C service, alignments, and occasional classic restoration. Motor Works is also active in the local automotive community, including the Turning Back Time Car Show, and regularly hosts or supports community events. Training and Professional Growth Experienced technicians are not expected to stop learning. Local and online training opportunities are offered monthly, the shop pays for ASE certifications, and members of the team attend the VISION Hi-Tech Training & Expo each year. Technicians with the ability and interest to lead are given opportunities to grow into leadership roles. What You'll Be Doing Diagnosing drivability, electrical, intermittent, and warning-light concerns Using scan data, wiring diagrams, DVOM testing, scopes, and bidirectional controls to verify problems Diagnosing battery, charging, starting, sensor, actuator, and network communication systems Performing internal engine repairs, including head gasket and cylinder-head work Completing brake, suspension, steering, cooling-system, HVAC, and driveline repairs Removing and replacing transmissions when needed Programming and reflashing vehicle modules Completing maintenance services and thorough digital vehicle inspections Clearly documenting findings and communicating with advisors Working independently while collaborating when a repair benefits from another perspective Experience and Qualifications At least three years of professional, hands-on automotive repair experience Advanced mechanical ability with strong testing and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently on most repairs Experience diagnosing drivability, electrical, and complex vehicle concerns Solid understanding of scan data, wiring diagrams, and electrical testing Experience with internal engine repair and advanced repair strategy Familiarity with Mitchell, ALLDATA, Identifix, or similar repair information systems Valid driver's license Your own basic professional tools; specialty tools and diagnostic equipment are provided ASE certifications or an automotive college credential preferred Factory programming, welding, and advanced electrical experience preferred Willingness to continue learning and pursue additional certifications If you take pride in doing the work correctly, want your experience to be respected, and are looking for a shop where you can build a long-term career, we would like to meet you.
