Duties Perform comprehensive auto body repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural alignment using welding and mechanical knowledge. Prepare vehicle surfaces meticulously through sanding, masking, grinding, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply paints, coatings, and finishes using conventional spray guns or airless paint spraying equipment with precision and consistency. Conduct automotive buffing and polishing to achieve a flawless finish that meets high-quality standards. Use hand tools and power tools effectively for sanding, grinding, buffing, and other repair tasks while adhering to safety protocols such as respiratory protection. Manage auto restoration projects from start to finish—assessing damage, estimating repairs, ordering parts including auto glass replacements, and executing repairs efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while ensuring all safety procedures are followed during heavy lifting and the use of surface preparation masking techniques. Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional customer service by providing updates on repair progress and ensuring satisfaction with the finished product. Experience Prior dealership experience or automotive repair background highly preferred; familiarity with auto body repair processes is essential. Proficiency in welding techniques and mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance is a strong plus. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, grinders, buffing equipment, and spray guns used in auto painting and refinishing. Knowledge of automotive surface preparation including sanding, masking, priming, painting, coating application, and finishing techniques such as automotive buffing. Understanding of auto estimating procedures and customer service principles to ensure transparent communication throughout the repair process. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during surface preparation and auto restoration tasks. Certification or training in auto body repair or auto painting is advantageous; ongoing learning about new paints, coatings, and spray equipment is encouraged.
