B&R Repair is an independent, family-owned, growing automotive and diesel repair shop located in the country about 12 miles west of Princeton, IL. We have been serving Princeton and the surrounding small towns since 2019. We work on a wide range of gas and diesel vehicles, including passenger cars, SUVs, light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, and semi trucks. Our large, fully climate-controlled shop has 2 passenger vehicle bays and 2 class-8 semi tractor bays, one scissor lift, two 2-post lifts, and two in-floor semi lifts. Our team is committed to maintaining the highest standards in every repair, combining modern technology with old-fashioned, small-town service. We are looking for a high B-level technician with strong diagnostic skills. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the vehicles that come through our shop. You will use modern diagnostic tools, perform scheduled maintenance services, and ensure that all work meets our shop's high standards.
Responsibilities:
Inspect, diagnose, recommend, and perform mechanical and electrical repairs on gas and diesel vehicles Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brakes Perform in-depth repairs such as engine and transmission swaps, suspension, electrical and climate control repairs Use Snap-On and TopDon diagnostic equipment Ensure all repairs are completed to the highest standards and in a timely manner Work with other members of our team to keep workflow moving
Requirements:
Valid driver's license 3+ years of professional automotive repair experience Strong automotive diagnostic skills Basic electrical knowledge Proficiency with digital tools, diagnostic software & scanners, and general computer skills Ability to work efficiently both independently and with our team Basic tools are tech-supplied, diagnostic and specialty tools are provided by the shop Diesel/heavy-duty experience is a plus, but not required ASE Certifications a plus, but not required Compensation, Benefits, & Hours $25-$35+/ hour, based on experience and current skill set, overtime pay for anything over 40 hours/week Hourly pay Training provided Certification incentives Uniforms One week of PTO for full-time employees and paid sick leave Why work here? Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm, weekends/overtime very rarely asked Fully climate controlled shop, both heat and air conditioning throughout the building Primarily Domestic vehicle work, with ½ ton and over pickup trucks representing about 50% of the shop's vehicle mix A small portion of the vehicles we work on include specialty vehicles such as railroad service vehicles, agricultural equipment, and classics Shop-owned diagnostic and specialty tooling: Snap-On and TopDon scanners Tekmetric/DVI, Identifix, and ALLDATA Continued training through CarQuest Technical Institute and in-person training conferences.
