JHB Group is seeking a Vehicle Electrical & Communications Technician to install, troubleshoot, and test electrical, networking, internet, and communications systems in custom emergency response trailers and specialty vehicles. This position combines traditional electrical work with modern communications technology, including networking equipment, Starlink satellite internet, radio systems, Wi-Fi equipment, and other mission-critical technology. No two builds are exactly alike, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and continuous learning. What You'll Do Install and troubleshoot 12V DC and 120V AC electrical systems. Install electrical panels, receptacles, breakers, batteries, converters, and other electrical components. Route, terminate, and label electrical and communication wiring. Install and terminate Cat5, Cat6, coaxial, and low-voltage cabling. Install and configure network racks, switches, routers, wireless access points, and communication hardware. Install and configure Starlink satellite internet systems. Install two-way radios, antennas, cellular communication devices, and other emergency communications equipment. Perform cable testing, network testing, and electrical system verification. Diagnose and repair electrical, networking, and communication system issues. Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation drawings. Verify all systems operate correctly before delivery. Maintain clean, organized, and professional installations. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Assist with trailer production and other shop projects as needed. Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to deliver exceptional products. Qualifications Experience with electrical installation, wiring, or troubleshooting. Experience with automotive, trailer, marine, RV, or specialty vehicle electrical systems is preferred. Experience with low-voltage wiring, networking, telecommunications, or communications equipment is a plus. Familiarity with one or more of the following: 12V DC electrical systems 120V AC electrical systems Low-voltage wiring Cat5/Cat6 networking Coaxial cable Network switches and routers Wi-Fi equipment Starlink systems Two-way radio systems Cellular communication equipment Emergency vehicle electronics Ability to use multimeters, volt meters, cable testers, network testers, and cable toners. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read a tape measure and interpret technical drawings. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously expand your skillset. Preferred Experience 3+ years of electrical wiring experience. 3+ years of automotive, trailer, RV, marine, or emergency vehicle electrical installation. Experience with networking, communications, or telecommunications systems. Experience installing Starlink, radios, antennas, or wireless communication equipment. Experience with emergency vehicle upfitting is highly desirable. Why JHB Group?
