Responsibilities of a Parts Assistant Manager entail: Schedule, supervise, and mentor inside counter staff, warehouse personnel, and outside sales representatives. Oversee hands-on training, track performance evaluations, manage disciplinary documentation, and assist in recruiting top talent. Ensure rapid, high-standard phone and counter support for retail, wholesale, and internal accounts (Service, Body Shop, and Vehicle Sales). Act as the primary point of contact for resolving complex customer service issues and billing disputes. Maintain target inventory turn ratios and vendor stock thresholds. Conduct regular perpetual inventory counts, manage the annual physical inventory audit, track surplus and obsolescence returns, and provide inventory alignment assistance to satellite locations. Enforce core return policies and process credits for remanufactured parts. Oversee customer parts returns, inspect incoming freight damage, manage warranty claims, and ensure all supporting paperwork flows accurately through the system. Maintain system pricing parameters, discount tiers, and customer matrices within the DMS/Rinfo software based on management guidelines. Coordinate inside sales strategies, manage promotional flyer distribution, and support the outside sales team. Optimize order pulling, staging, and route delivery schedules for maximum driver efficiency. Keep warehouse storage areas neatly organized, maintain attractive customer display areas, and oversee routine upkeep for delivery trucks, forklifts, computers, and facility assets.
