Job Description
Redwood is seeking a reliable and skilled Fleet & Equipment Mechanic to support our landscaping operations. This role focuses on maintaining and repairing small equipment, skid steers, and company trucks to keep our crews operating safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on maintenance role. Major engine rebuilds are not required; however, the ideal candidate will be comfortable performing brake jobs, oil changes, preventative maintenance, and minor engine repairs on trucks and equipment.
Primary equipment includes:
Scag commercial mowers ASV skid steers Ford trucks Stihl power equipment Responsibilities / Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on small engines and landscaping equipment. Service and repair Scag mowers and other commercial cutting equipment. Maintain and repair Stihl handheld power equipment (trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, etc.). Perform maintenance and minor repairs on ASV skid steers.Complete truck maintenance including:
Brake jobs Oil changes Filters and fluid changes Minor engine repairs Basic electrical troubleshooting Inspect and maintain trailers to ensure safe operation. Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. Identify repair needs and communicate parts requirements to management. Maintain accurate service records and maintenance logs. Assist with seasonal equipment preparation. Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of small engine repair and maintenance. Experience working on commercial mowers and handheld power equipment. Ability to perform brake work and general maintenance on light-duty trucks. Basic knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems. Comfortable working on skid steers and compact equipment. Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and complete timely repairs. Organized, dependable, and safety-focused. Team-oriented with a positive attitude. Experience & Credentials 2+ years of hands-on experience in small engine repair, fleet maintenance, or related mechanical work. Experience with Scag, ASV, Ford, and Stihl equipment preferred. Valid driver's license required. Ability to lift 40+ lbs and work in a shop environment.Pay:
$26.00 - $35.00 per hourBenefits:
