Job Description
Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, brake jobs, tire services, and fluid flushes Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using scan tools, test equipment, and hands‑on troubleshooting Complete repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering components, HVAC systems, and electrical circuits Communicate clearly with the shop owner or service writer about repair needs, timelines, and parts requirements Provide honest assessments and help maintain the shop's reputation for transparency and integrity Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards Assist with occasional customer interactions when needed Support the team by sharing knowledge, helping with complex jobs, and contributing to a positive shop culture Required Skills & Qualifications Prior experience as an automotive technician or mechanic in a shop environment Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Familiarity with both domestic and import vehicles Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Physical ability to lift parts and equipment and work in various shop conditions Strong work ethic and commitment to quality Preferred Qualifications ASE certifications or willingness to obtain them Experience in an independent or small‑team shop setting Comfort using modern diagnostic tools and shop software HVAC certification (EPA 609) Work Environment Family‑style, team‑oriented independent shop Fast‑paced with a wide variety of vehicles and repair types Opportunities to grow skills and take on more responsibility Occasional overtime depending on workload and customer needs
