US Fire Pump also maintains the largest industrial Emergency Response Team and equipment assets in the world.
Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Fire Truck Trim & Finish Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the precision fitting, fabrication, and installation of aluminum trim, compartment components, and exterior accessories that complete our custom fire apparatus. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys craftsmanship, takes pride in professional quality work, and has experience working with metal, cabinetry, carpentry, or custom assembly. Every measurement matters, and every installed component contributes to the quality and appearance of the finished fire truck. Job Responsibilities :
Measure, cut, fit, and install aluminum tread plate, trim panels, and closeout panels throughout fire truck bodies. Install shelves, compartment dividers, trays, and other storage components. Mount exterior accessories including handrails, steps, ladders, grab handles, brackets, and other equipment. Install interior wall panels and closeout panels that conceal electrical wiring, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions. Ensure all installed components are accurately aligned, securely fastened, and finished to a high standard. Perform layout work requiring careful planning and precise measurements before drilling or mounting components. Work closely with fabrication, electrical, plumbing, paint, and final assembly departments to complete each apparatus. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety procedures.
Qualifications:
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Strong ability to accurately read and use a tape measure. Experience making precise measurements and transferring layouts to finished products. Proficient with common hand and power tools including drills, impact drivers, taps, shears, rivet tools, grinders, and saws. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how components fit together within a larger assembly. Ability to follow blueprints, drawings, and assembly instructions. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.
Preferred Experience:
Candidates with experience in any of the following are especially encouraged to apply: Carpentry, cabinet making, finish carpentry, or custom woodworking. Sheet metal fabrication or aluminum fabrication. Manufacturing or production assembly. Experience with riveted or fastened assemblies. Familiarity with layout work and precision fitting of custom components.
