Health insurance We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and motivated Fleet & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This is a hands-on position for someone who knows their way around a shop, comes ready to work, and can take initiative without needing to be told what to do next. We maintain a variety of vehicles and equipment, so we need someone who is comfortable working on everything from cars and trucks to loaders, excavators, ramp trucks, and other heavy equipment. The right candidate will be dependable, on time, organized, and willing to work as part of a team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can identify what needs attention, and takes charge of getting it done. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment Diagnose mechanical issues and complete necessary repairs Perform preventative fleet maintenance Maintain and repair: Cars and light-duty vehicles Pickup and work trucks Ramp trucks Heavy-duty trucks Loaders Excavators Heavy equipment Other company vehicles and machinery Perform oil changes, brake work, fluid changes, basic electrical repairs, and other general mechanical repairs Inspect vehicles and equipment for potential problems before they become major repairs Respond to equipment breakdowns as needed Keep accurate track of maintenance and repairs Maintain a clean and organized work area Work independently while also communicating and working well with the rest of the team Take initiative and address work that needs to be completed without waiting to be asked Requirements Previous professional mechanical experience required Experience with fleet maintenance and repair Working knowledge of trucks, cars, heavy equipment, and diesel-powered equipment Ability to diagnose and repair common mechanical problems Must have your own tools and tool box(es) Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record Must be comfortable driving a company service truck when needed Must be dependable and consistently arrive to work on time Must be able to work 50+ hours per week Must be able to work independently and take initiative Must be willing to work as part of a team Must come to work prepared and ready to work What We're Looking For We aren't looking for someone who needs to be constantly directed or reminded what needs to be done. We need an experienced mechanic who can look at the fleet, recognize what needs attention, prioritize repairs, and get to work.
