About the
Role:
Sentry is one of the busiest Ford and Lincoln service departments in New England and our dispatcher is a key member of our team. If you like to be busy, this may be a good fit!! The Automotive Service Dispatcher plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient coordination and scheduling of automotive service appointments and technician assignments. This position serves as the communication hub between customers, service technicians, and management, facilitating timely and accurate dispatch of service calls. The primary goal is to optimize service delivery by managing workloads, prioritizing urgent repairs, and maintaining clear communication channels. The dispatcher is responsible for tracking service progress, updating customers on status, and resolving any scheduling conflicts or delays. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency within the automotive service department.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in dispatching, customer service, or a related role within the automotive or service industry. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency with computer systems and software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an automotive service environment. Familiarity with automotive repair terminology and processes.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and schedule service appointments based on technician availability and customer needs. Dispatch jobs to technicians in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain clear and continuous communication with service advisors and customers regarding appointment times, delays, and service updates. Monitor technician progress and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate urgent or emergency service requests. Document all activities accurately in the dealership management system. Collaborate with service managers and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any operational issues. Manage and prioritize multiple requests simultaneously while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

The Automotive Service Dispatcher utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage multiple service appointments and technician schedules efficiently. Communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, technicians, and management to ensure clarity and resolve any issues promptly. Proficiency with dispatch and service management software enables accurate tracking and documentation of service activities. Problem-solving skills are applied when adjusting schedules to accommodate urgent requests or unexpected delays. Additionally, knowledge of automotive terminology and processes enhances the dispatcher's ability to understand service requirements and communicate effectively with technical staff. Monday through Friday 6:45AM-5:30PM plus one Saturday per month
