Job Description

Central Maine Motors Auto Group is hiring for a Detailing technician at our Reconditioning Center. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a trusted, well respected, family owned business that is continually expanding. At Central Maine Motors, our teams of highly trained and skilled technicians work hard to ensure every customer leaves the shop happy and satisfied. As a Reconditioning Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning and refurbishing the interior and exterior of new and used vehicles while keeping company goals and customer satisfaction in mind.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES
Assesses and analyzes repair orders and plans work to be performed. Washes vehicle exteriors to clean cars, using cleaning solution, water, cloths and brushes. Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surfaces to protect and preserve shine, using cloth or buffing machine. Vacuums interiors of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris, using vacuum cleaner. Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices. Applies revitalizers and preservatives to vinyl or leather surfaces, and treats fabrics with spot and stain resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components. Applies special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which do not respond to normal cleaning procedures, utilizing experience and following recommendations of product manufacturer. Documents work performed on repair orders. Reviews completed work to ensure quality of detail and cleaning. Performs work according to policies and procedures, and maintains a clean and safe working environment. Accurately records time spent on each job utilizing company time clocking procedures. Completes and maintains Factory and Dealer training. Advises Manager of any supply issues or concerns with tools or equipment. Works effectively with others by valuing and practicing teamwork at all times and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude. The Automotive Detailing Technician may be required to perform work inside and outside, in all temperature and weather situations. Sound and noise levels may be distracting or uncomfortable. The employee frequently works around hazardous machinery, in confined work spaces and may be exposed to high temperatures, fumes, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The position requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time, manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 100 pounds.
