POSITION SUMMARY
The Automotive Body Technician & Plastics Fabricator - Bumpers is a key team member that will be responsible for removing, modifying, and reinstalling the rear bumper on the wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions we produce maintaining the high-standards of quality and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Remove rear bumper and additional pieces including lower interior trim, automotive seats and carpeting as needed. Cut and reform rear bumper capping the cut edges using hand tools according to verbal and/or written instructions while adhering to all Freedom Motors policies and procedures under minimal supervision. Install modified bumper using laser level and maintaining an eye for detail. Perform inspection prior to Quality Assurance. Perform trouble-shooting of equipment as needed. Use hand including, but not limited to, impact drivers, hand drills, band saw, etc. Maintain compliance with Freedom Motors quality and safety standards, policies and procedures, and OSHA safety regulations and follow both written and verbal work instructions. Assist other areas as needed
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
: Coursework beyond High School Diploma preferred. Previous experience with automotive body work and repair, plastic fabrication, carpentry or finishing preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to use hand-tools including, but not limited to, grinder, body saw, impact drivers, hand drills, etc. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times. Outstanding attendance record and reliability.
TECHNICAL ABILITIES
: Ability to climb, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, squat, twist, crawl, or stand or prolonged periods of time. Ability to carry and lift up to 50 pounds. Tolerance for overhead work and working in confined spaces. Ability to read small print, hear sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies and use repetitive motions. Tolerance for working in noisy environments and confined spaces with exposure to dust, fumes, hot and cold weather.
