Our wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions give our customers the freedom to live life on their own terms. As a Hydraulic Technician , you will be responsible for installing and servicing hydraulic lifts, ramps, and other mobility equipment on the wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions we produce while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This is hands-on, detail-driven work that directly impacts the independence and quality of life for our customers.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll Do:
- Install electrical connectors to finish wiring
- Connect rigid hydraulic lines between pump and cylinder
- Assemble and install hydraulic pump units
- Install hydraulic cylinders
- Assemble and install remote control electronics
- Modify plastic panels for body and cylinder mounts
- Operate and troubleshoot hydro/electrical system
- Use hand tools including, but not limited to, grinder, body saw, impact drivers, hand drills,
- band saw, etc.
- Maintain equipment, inspect for performance and/or safety concerns, and perform troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintain compliance with Freedom Motors' quality and safety standards, policies and procedures, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Ability to read wiring schematics and diagrams and follow both written and verbal work instructions.
- Assist other areas as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
What You'll Need:
- Coursework beyond a high school diploma preferred.
- Mechanic experience with hydraulic and electrical knowledge and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated initiative, willingness to take on greater challenges, and excellent
- analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, including wire strippers, soldering irons, ratchets, impact tools, and air tools.
- Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics and diagrams and follow both written and verbal work instructions.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Outstanding attendance record and reliability.
