Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Roll-Off Truck Mechanic and become a vital part of our heavy equipment maintenance operation! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of roll-off trucks and related heavy machinery. Your expertise will ensure our equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our waste management and industrial services. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on roll-off trucks, including engine systems, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, brakes, and electrical components. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery to keep operations running smoothly. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues effectively. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair needs. Replace or repair vehicle systems including air brakes, shocks & struts, power tools attachments, HVAC systems, and tire service. Maintain detailed service records and logs for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Assist with equipment assembly, alignment procedures, and preventive maintenance tasks to maximize equipment lifespan. Experience Proven mechanic experience with heavy trucks or industrial equipment; dealership experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and automotive electrical systems. Skilled in using schematics, diagnostic software, welding equipment, power tools, and hand tools for repairs. Experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high attention to detail during vehicle maintenance tasks. Knowledge of safety protocols related to air brake systems, vehicle alignment, tire service, and general equipment repair.
