Job Summary Join our dynamic automotive service team as an Automotive Mechanic, where your expertise will drive vehicle performance and customer satisfaction! In this energetic role, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This paid position offers the opportunity to work with diverse vehicle types, including light-duty cars and heavy equipment, using advanced tools and diagnostic systems. Good communication between customers, vendors and employees is essential. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on automotive electrical systems, engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, and other mechanical components using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, tire repairs, tire replacement, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to keep vehicles running smoothly. Repair or replace critical mechanical systems including diesel engines, powertrains, shocks & struts, air brakes, and automotive electrical systems. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to execute repairs efficiently and accurately. Interpret technical schematics and manufacturer specifications to troubleshoot complex issues on various vehicle models, including GM vehicles if applicable. Perform auto body repairs or auto estimating tasks when needed to support comprehensive vehicle service. Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and quality expectations while maintaining detailed service records for each vehicle serviced. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and offering maintenance advice to clients for ongoing vehicle care. Experience Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in dealership or independent shop settings. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics software and schematics interpretation. Knowledge of diagnostic tools, auto electrical systems, transmission repair, suspension systems repair, and diesel engine repair is highly desirable. Familiarity with heavy equipment mechanics or auto body repair is a plus. Experience working with mechanical systems repair including brakes, shocks & struts, wheel alignments, oil changes, and tire services. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
