Automotive Technician Job Description This position involves the layout, wiring, and mounting of hydraulics, electronics, and PTOs on custom truck bodies on trucks. The role requires setting up and operating machines that will cut, bend, saw, and punch steel into custom parts needed for body mounting. The ability to use overhead chain hoists, forklifts, handcarts, and other types of hand and power tools is essential. Use overhead chain hoists, forklifts, handcarts, and other hand and power tools. Essential Skills Mechanical assembly and installation experience. Proficiency in wiring, assembly, and understanding of hydraulics. Ability to interpret blueprints and work orders. Six months of experience with heavy installations, preferably on vehicles. Basic understanding of hydraulics, PTO, frames, pumps, electrical controls, and wiring. Basic math skills for machine setup and problem-solving. Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred experience with hand plasma and wire feed welding. Ability to read measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers. Physical capability to pick, push, and move objects up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, twist, carry, work overhead, kneel, crouch, and climb. The facility is equipped with large overhead cranes and has good ventilation throughout. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
