Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across various vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, suspension, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Repair and maintain powertrain components such as engines, transmissions, and drive axles to ensure smooth operation and longevity. Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs, wheel alignments, and steering system diagnostics to optimize handling and safety. Interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately for electrical system troubleshooting and repairs involving automotive electrical systems. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools effectively to complete repairs efficiently. Service vehicles by replacing or repairing components such as brakes, exhaust systems, fuel systems, and diesel engines as needed. Document all repair work thoroughly for auto estimating purposes while maintaining high standards of quality control. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process. Experience Proven dealership or service shop experience with a strong background in automotive repair and diagnostics. Familiarity with schematics interpretation, especially automotive wiring diagrams. Hands-on experience working with ADAS technology and automotive electrical systems. Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures across various makes and models, including GM vehicles if applicable. Experience with vehicle transmission system repair, powertrain diagnostics, suspension system repair, and alignment procedures. Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools and understanding complex vehicle systems for accurate troubleshooting. Service technician experience involving auto estimating software is preferred. Ability to work efficiently with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical devices while adhering to safety standards.
