Job Description
We are hosting an onsite hiring event at our facility located at 610 W. 4th St., Snyder NE this Wednesday, July 15th from 1:00PM - 7:00 PM . Walks in encouraged! Ask about our sign on bonus! Job Overview Smeal Fire Apparatus is seeking motivated Mechanical Automotive Assemblers to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling specialty vehicle components and systems with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your hands-on mechanical skills and attention to detail will contribute directly to the production of high-quality vehicles that meet rigorous specifications. Duties Interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, and production documents to assemble automotive parts accurately Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and machining equipment such as CNC lathes to perform mechanical assembly tasks Conduct dimensional measurements with calipers and other precision instruments to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications Perform welding and mechanical fastening tasks according to safety protocols and quality standards Handle heavy components safely using manual handling techniques and forklift operation when necessary Detect and report quality control defects by inspecting assembled parts for accuracy and adherence to design specifications Follow safety standards in production environments, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols Experience Experience in mechanical assembly, electrical assembly or manufacturing environments, preferably within automotive or heavy machinery sectors Reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams is a plus Knowledge of the use of hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools Familiarity with CNC machining processes such as lathe operations is a plus Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and component specifications Experience with safety standards in production settings, including heavy lifting and manual handling procedures Mechanic experience or background in automotive assembly is highly desirable but not required Join a team that values craftsmanship, safety, and innovation.
