For more than 40 years, we have been serving clients in the trucking, manufacturing, and construction industries. We utilize modern facilities to meet all your trailer needs. Job Overview The Trailer Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining semi-trailers and related equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role supports the daily operations of the fleet by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and completing repairs in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced in trailer maintenance and repair procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of semi-trailers in a variety of settings and weather conditions. Conduct FHWA inspections and preventive maintenance (PMs) to ensure DOT compliance. Perform preventative maintenance inspections on trailers and equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues. Repair or replace brakes, suspensions, air systems, lighting, tires, and trailer components. Conduct welding, fabrication, and body repairs as needed. Inspect trailers to ensure DOT compliance and operational safety. Complete work orders, maintenance reports, and inspection documentation accurately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Operate shop equipment and tools safely and efficiently. Assist with emergency roadside repairs when required. Communicate repair status and equipment needs with management and operations teams. Note:
This role does not involve engine work. Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience as a trailer mechanic or similar role preferred. Knowledge of trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, electrical, and air systems. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment. Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus. Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Flexibility to work in all weather conditions and emergency situations as needed.
