US Foods is seeking a Sr Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our delivery tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units in a fast-paced wholesale foodservice environment. You will perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and complex repairs on diesel equipment to keep our fleet safe, reliable, and on the road. This role troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, documents work in a computerized maintenance system, supports on-call or emergency breakdowns, and partners with operations to minimize downtime while following strict safety and compliance standards. Responsibilities Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on diesel tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections to meet DOT and company standards Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and braking systems using tools and diagnostic software Document all work performed in a computerized maintenance management system Respond to road calls and breakdowns to minimize service interruptions Maintain a clean, safe shop environment and adhere to all safety and environmental regulations Collaborate with operations and dispatch to prioritize repairs and reduce equipment downtime Train or mentor junior mechanics on best practices and repair procedures Required Skills Diesel engine diagnostics and repair Heavy truck and trailer maintenance Refrigeration (reefer) unit service Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Electrical and electronic troubleshooting DOT and OSHA compliance Preventive maintenance scheduling Brake, suspension, and steering repair Welding and fabrication basics Computerized maintenance systems (CMMS)
