Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, diagnostics, and maintenance, with the ability to work efficiently on a variety of vehicle makes and models. This role involves performing comprehensive repairs, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems, and ensuring customer vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive issues including engine, transmission, suspension, electrical systems, brakes, and shocks & struts Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections Utilize schematics and diagnostic tools to identify mechanical or electrical faults accurately Repair or replace mechanical systems including powertrain components, diesel engines, air brakes, and heavy equipment mechanics Conduct wheel alignments, suspension system repairs, and shocks & struts replacements Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized automotive repair tools effectively Interpret vehicle schematics and technical manuals for complex repairs Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure proper functioning and customer satisfaction Maintain detailed records of repairs performed using auto estimating software Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications Experience Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a focus on diagnostics and mechanical systems repair Dealership experience is highly desirable Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), GM vehicles, and powertrain components Skilled in transmission repair, diesel engine repair, brake repair, alignment services, and suspension system repairs Familiarity with heavy equipment mechanics and auto estimating processes Proficiency with schematics, vehicle maintenance procedures, and the use of hand tools and power tools Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients Experience working with various vehicle makes/models including GM vehicles is preferred This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment dedicated to quality automotive service.
