We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Mechanic to maintain, inspect, diagnose, repair, and service a fleet of company vehicles and equipment. The Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM), routine inspections, troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, and emergency repairs to ensure fleet vehicles remain safe, reliable, roadworthy, and operational. This position is ideal for an experienced Automotive Mechanic, Fleet Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Service Technician, or Maintenance Mechanic with strong mechanical and diagnostic skills. The Fleet Mechanic will work on a variety of vehicles and equipment and will be expected to accurately document maintenance and repairs while following all company safety procedures and manufacturer specifications. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on company fleet vehicles according to established maintenance schedules, mileage intervals, and manufacturer recommendations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, safety, and operational issues before they result in breakdowns or costly repairs. Perform oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid checks, fluid replacements, and other routine vehicle maintenance services. Inspect, service, repair, and replace brakes, brake pads, rotors, drums, calipers, brake lines, wheel cylinders, and other braking components. Inspect and service steering and suspension systems, including shocks, struts, ball joints, tie rods, control arms, bushings, and related components. Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, drivetrain, cooling, fuel, exhaust, and electrical systems. Perform battery testing, replacement, charging system inspections, and electrical troubleshooting. Diagnose check-engine lights, warning lights, fault codes, and vehicle performance issues using diagnostic scan tools and computerized vehicle diagnostic equipment. Perform OBD-II diagnostics and interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Inspect and maintain tires, wheels, wheel bearings, tire pressure, and related components. Perform tire rotations and coordinate tire replacement, balancing, alignment, and other tire-related services as needed. Inspect and maintain belts, hoses, pulleys, tensioners, cooling systems, and HVAC components. Diagnose and repair starting and charging systems, including starters, alternators, batteries, wiring, and electrical connections. Perform minor and major mechanical repairs as required to maintain fleet reliability. Troubleshoot vehicle breakdowns and assist with roadside/emergency repairs when necessary. Conduct post-repair inspections and road tests to verify that repairs have been completed properly and vehicles are safe for operation. Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, parts usage, mileage, service dates, and vehicle downtime. Complete work orders, maintenance logs, inspection reports, and computerized fleet maintenance records accurately and promptly. Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and communicate upcoming service requirements to management. Identify recurring mechanical problems and recommend corrective actions to reduce vehicle downtime and repair costs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and work area. Properly use and maintain hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, hydraulic equipment, lifts, jacks, and shop equipment. Follow all applicable OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, company safety, and vehicle manufacturer requirements, where applicable to the fleet. Properly handle, store, and dispose of used oil, filters, automotive fluids, batteries, and other maintenance-related materials. Maintain inventory of commonly used replacement parts, filters, lubricants, fluids, tools, and maintenance supplies. Communicate effectively with supervisors, fleet managers, drivers, operations personnel, and outside repair vendors. Assist with coordinating outside vendors, dealerships, tire shops, towing companies, and specialized repair facilities when repairs exceed in-house capabilities. Prioritize repairs based on vehicle safety, operational requirements, scheduled maintenance, and fleet availability. Ensure all vehicles are returned to service in a safe, reliable, and properly maintained condition.

$20.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 45.0 per week
