Posting Details The General Services Department (GSD) supports the operations of state government by providing essential services, including procurement, risk management, facilities management, transportation services, and printing services. The Transportation Services Division (TSD), State Centralized Fleet Authority Bureau (SCFA) manages the state's fleet of vehicles, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation solutions for state agencies. TSD provides vehicle leasing, maintenance, fuel services, and fleet management expertise to support government operations statewide. The chosen candidate will be compensated at the rate of $26.26 per hour (non-negotiable) Why does the job exist? This position is required to prepare Short an Long term leased vehicles are ready for leasing. Making sure the vehicles are safe, dependable and roadworthy. How does it get done?

Key responsibilities include:

Assist with vehicle inspections, preventive maintenance, and routine repairs. Perform oil and filter changes and inspect belts, hoses, brakes, tires, wheel bearings, electrical systems, and other vehicle components. Check and maintain fluid levels and tire pressure and replace batteries, windshield wipers, shocks, and other basic vehicle parts as needed. Prepare and stage short-term leasing vehicles for daily dispatch. Assist mechanics and other staff with vehicle maintenance and repair activities. Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors and steam clean engines as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and work area. Who are the customers? Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver license. Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certification once employed. This is a safety sensitive position and subject to random drug testing. Working Conditions Work is performed indoors and outdoor setting, may need to work in inclement weather conditions. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Prolonger periods of standing, bending, twisting and walking. State travel is required. This position is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug testing.
