Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fleet Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on company vehicles including school buses, motorcoaches, and support vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. General Accountabilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on buses and company vehicles Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer and company standards Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations Troubleshoot and repair diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, brakes, and HVAC systems Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records Assist in ordering and maintaining parts inventory Respond to road calls and perform emergency repairs when needed Operate company equipment and tools in a safe and professional manner Collaborate with drivers and management to address vehicle concerns Perform lot & facility maintenance as needed Keep the lot clean, free of debris, snow, or hazards Maintain signage, cones, barriers, and designated parking zones. Report safety concerns, vehicle damage, or hazards immediately to management. Assist with organizing tools, equipment, and supplies. Job Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a fleet, diesel, or heavy vehicle mechanic Valid driver's license (CDL with Passenger endorsement preferred or willingness to obtain) Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, electrical systems, and vehicle diagnostics Ability to pass background check and drug/alcohol screening Skills Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs Basic computer skills for maintenance record-keeping Benefits Consistent, year-round work License Fee Reimbursement and CDL upgrade support Supportive team environment PTO and Paid Sick Leave People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
