Job Summary The Sewing Machine Mechanic prepares, installs and services industrial sewing equipment. Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs industrial sewing equipment.
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of sewing equipment during production.
• Responds to production maintenance requests made by team lead, supervisors and/or production managers in a timely manner.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
• Responsible for reporting to lead hand any required replacement parts or any parts that may need to be sent out for repair.
• Maintains clear work area.
• Complies with Occupational Health and Safety Act and company safety policies and quality standards.
• Performs other related duties as required or as assigned.
• Communicates any downtime or maintenance issues that may affect production. Requirements/Qualifications
• Must have strong communication skills, with the ability effective read and write in English.
• Exceptional mechanical aptitude.
• Previous sewing machine mechanic experience is an asset.
• Must be skilled in using a variety of hand tools.
• Ability to quickly recognize and diagnose problems.
• Comfortable working with minimal supervision.
• Must be detailed oriented and thorough in completing tasks.
• Demonstrate problem solving skills and good work practices.
• Capable of performing general physical activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to successfully function within a team environment.
• Reliable and willing to be flexible.
• Basic computer skills.

Pay:

$25.00 - $27.00 per hour
