Entry-Level Automotive Mechanic Kinetic Autocare | Westbury, NY | Full-time Job Summary Kinetic Autocare, an independent repair shop in Westbury, is hiring an entry-level mechanic to join our two-bay team. You'll handle routine service work, including oil changes, tire rotations, tire mounting and balancing, and brake repairs. This is a hands-on role with room to grow. We'll support you as you build skills and certifications. Responsibilities Perform oil and filter changes, fluid checks and top-offs, and scheduled maintenance services Rotate, mount, dismount and balance tires, and repair flats Inspect, diagnose and repair brake systems, including pads, rotors and calipers Perform basic diagnostics, including visual inspections, reading trouble codes, and identifying common mechanical and electrical issues Complete multi-point vehicle inspections and report findings to the service advisor Test drive vehicles to confirm repairs Keep the work area, tools and equipment clean and organized Follow shop safety procedures and complete repair documentation accurately Requirements Basic knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair, gained through a trade school program, prior shop experience, or hands-on experience Ability to use hand tools, power tools, a tire machine, a wheel balancer and a vehicle lift Willingness to learn and take direction Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic Valid driver's license Have your own tools Nice to Have NY State Inspection certified ASE student or entry-level certification Vocational or technical school coursework in automotive technology Previous experience in a tire shop or quick-lube setting
