Job Description
Job Purpose:
- Entry-level automotive technician performing routine maintenance and basic repairs at our one-price, no-haggle Northeast Ohio dealership group, ensuring every vehicle meets safety and quality standards while building skills toward advancement as a technician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform repair and maintenance tasks as outlined in repair orders.
- Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and address issues effectively.
- Complete comprehensive 360-point inspections on vehicles.
- Conduct road tests to ensure repair efficacy and vehicle safety.
- Document all work performed on repair orders accurately.
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary components.
- Tag warranty parts appropriately for tracking and accountability.
- Communicate any additional vehicle needs to service advisors promptly.
- Adhere to OSHA and EPA safety standards consistently to maintain a safe work environment.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and state-required inspection/emissions certifications.
Preferred Education:
- Vocational/technical school certificate or associate degree in Automotive Technology preferred.
- Coursework in automotive systems, ASE student certification, or completion of a recognized automotive training program is a plus.
Required Experience:
- Entry-level position; prior quick-lube, tire shop, or basic maintenance experience preferred but not required.
- Must hold Suspension & Steering, Brakes, and Electrical/Electronic Systems (Auto/Light Truck) certifications or ability to obtain quickly.
Preferred Experience:
- 6+ months automotive service experience in a dealership or independent repair shop.
- Familiarity with multi-point inspections, diagnostic tools, and manufacturer-specific service procedures is a plus.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Basic automotive diagnostic and repair skills.
- Own hand tools.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs, stand/sit 8-hour shifts, and enter/exit vehicles freely.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Clear communication with advisors/parts staff.
- Commitment to
OSHA/CDC
safety protocols.Preferred Skills and Abilities:
